very relaxing. i was already familiar with sugar plant and a few of the songs on the album but i wanted to give myself a chance to listen to it in its entirety. sugar plant is one of my go-tos when i need music that will calm my nervous system.

this album made me feel like i was in an frutiger-futuristic night club. it has electronic elements as well as percussion, creating a mix of techno and house music. this is definitely what i call my "coding music", it helps me focus.

lily chou-chou
initially a fictional band formed by shunji iwai for the film "all about lily chou-chou". the band consisted of salyu, takeshi kobayashi, and yukio nagoshi. they are most known for their main album "kokyu", released in 2001. their genre is widely considered dream pop, for its dreamy and disorienting sound.
hikaru utada
a japanese-american singer and songwriter, known as one of the most influencial and best-selling artists in japan. they are featured on the kingdom hearts 2 soundtrack as well as the neon genesis evangelion: rebuild soundtrack. their music falls under j-pop, r&b, and dance pop.
